Let me guess, you're being bombarded by all the wedding info, advice and inspo out there...it can get freakin' crazy!
I get it, you're probably being told what to do by Facebook, wedding blogs, magazines and even some relatives (they mean well!)
Which is why I've put together this handy timeline of when certain wedding stationery needs to be ordered and mailed out. Let me take the load from you, you've already got enough on your plate...
Work out your Guest List and the numbers you will need for your vendors
Yes, this may be tricky and you're probably still in the "just engaged" dream bubble! You don't want to burst it with writing a guest list! But not much more can be planned without it. Here's my personal quick tips:
- Write down anyone and everyone who you want to invite - don't think about budgets or space yet. This will ensure you have everyone you need on the list.
- Go through and cull anyone you haven't seen personally in the last year. I know harsh right? But you will thank me later when you haven't broken your budget.
- Have one more go through and see if there is anyone else you can remove from the list. It could be your friend's new boyfriend who has only been around for a week, or that work colleague that you're still unsure if you're friends. Stick with it, then once you have your budget figured out you can always add these people back on, but for now keep them in a "maybe" list.
Keep in mind that you will want to have a rough budget in mind before doing this, and it's also best to sit down with your fiancé and work out the type of wedding you both want. If you're after a small, intimate gathering on a cliffside, then keep crossing those names out girl!
Order your Save The Dates
That's right, let's Save That Date! Of course this is optional, however I would recommend doing Save The Dates for destination weddings or if you have a few guests who live out of state and need to travel a bit. It's also an idea to have Save The Dates if your wedding is going to be around major holiday periods, like Christmas or Easter. This way any guests planning on being away for the holidays will be able to plan them around your wedding. Some people are nice like that.
>> And who better to order your Save The Dates than through me! Grab yours here!
Send out your Save The Dates
If you're doing Save The Dates, around this time would be perfect to send them out! Get your guests chattin' with excitement!
Order your Wedding Invitations
Let the fun begin! If you're having a local wedding, without any fancy printing techniques (letterpress, gold foil etc), aim for 4 months. However if you're having a destination wedding, or guests need to travel or if you want the whole she-bang with the fancy gold foil, letterpress printing or glitter-filled cannons, best to aim for 6 months. This will give you enough time for printing, delivery, as well as posting them to your guests. Best to not rush this and stress out! Plan early and you will be cruisin'.
And yours truly has bold, creative wedding invitations and stationery, all pre-designed just for you! Our invitations are designed to make your personality shine through, and to ignite the excitement among your family and friends for the up-coming cracker of a party that you have planned!
